Vaughn Preston Kocka!

To make a long story short... My water broke at 1:15am, after calling the Dr. we went to the hospital. I was thinking it wasn't going to be that bad, I was having no pain, because I was having no contractions, clearly I did not no what to expect. Once the nurse examined me she said I was only a fingertip dilated. They moved me to my room and started Pitocin and soon after I was definitely feeling contractions. I went from nothing to full blown contractions in about an hour, ugh! I received my epidural around 11:00am once I was 3 cm, after several hours of terrible pain. I wasn't able to get my epidural earlier because I wasn't dilating. My Dr. checked me around 1:00pm and said that I was 5 cm and that I would probably not deliver for several more hours and they would administer an antibiotic at 5:00pm incase of infection since my water broke. Kevin then asked when she thought I would be ready to deliver, she said she didn't think by 5:00pm. Soon after she left the room I began having pain from the contractions again, the nurse thought maybe it was because of the way I was laying so she had me move, thinking that may help, it didn't! The pain kept getting worse! There was a shift change and my new nurse examined me again, she looked at Kevin and I with a weird look and said you are fully dilated! My first response was, "Does that mean you can't increase my epidural!" The response was not good, she said at most they could give me a half dose, it really didn't help the pain. After 45 minutes of pushing Vaughn arrived at 5:46pm! After delivery all was good with baby and myself. We stayed in the hospital for 2 nights and were happy to get home.
